Kids Spa Party Mission Statement:

Hello, and welcome to the Day Spa Girl™ web platform, synonymously known as Mobile Kids Spa Parties by Mountainside On-Site Massage Therapy. We invite all parents of both guests and the Birthday Girl to carefully go over this page. W also strongly encourage party guests who are able to read to read this on their own, or assisted by their parents, if they cannot. We're sorry there's so much to read, but we want to cover everything that's important. This started out as a brief statement, and quickly mushroomed into this page since 2010. Please read everything and then digitally sign the page at the bottom, after you've checked that you understand everything presented. Please hit the Submit Button when done.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

We strive to provide the most fun and entertaining On-Site Spa Party possible, while treating every party-goer as a unique individual, helping them to realize personal worth and self-confidence the comes from the Inside, and that each child is special in their own way, and that her personal style is a means of expressing herself. We aim to help kids (and adult party-goers, if they so choose!) to de-stress and feel their best with our Therapeutic Massage; we take even a short-duration Therapeutic Massage mini-session seriously.

We strive to deliver the highest quality professional-level Spa Services, and aim to do so by constantly improving our knowledge base and skills by additional reading, seminars, and continuing education coursework. When it comes to nail art, we are both artists, graduates of programs art programs at at well-known universities. And regarding kids, we are also educators (in massage health sciences, massage therapy, music, and art); having classroom management experience definitely helps! : )

We try our best to help parents have a stress-free, easy party. We want to help kids learn about healthy skin care, and help them see vanity has nothing to do with it, and that beauty shines from inside! We want the day to be super-special, and put in our best efforts to to make that happen. The wonder is in the details.

While we were (absolutely) among the first companies to offer Kids Spa Parties at Home, we have seen a ridiculous number of Kids Spa web sites and storefront-based spa companies springing up in recent years. This has cluttered web directories and has caused brand dilution.

What sets us apart is our dedication to helping others; our professional training, education, and previous work experience; our crazy originality(!); and most importantly, in our view, the idea that being kind to the kids, and encouraging them to be kind to one another, will help them to be the same way toward friends, family, and classmates.

As a specialized Mountainside On-Site Massage Therapy "spin-off" brand, Day Spa Girl's,™ philosophy and developmental framework are directly connected with the Health Sciences Research Learning Center — an accredited provider of continuing education classes to medical professionals, also operated under our parent company, Mountainside Diversified.

This academic and clinical foundation anchors our work in rigorous scientific inquiry. Through our connection to the Center, we engage with ongoing studies and informational resources focusing on specialized populations across pediatrics, perinatal care, and geriatrics, ensuring our approach to youth wellness is informed by deep medical and developmental insights.

Our commitment to youth empowerment is formally tied to our work with the Assertive Kids Foundation. This connection allows us to translate clinical research into practical, supportive environments where children can build healthy personal boundaries, emotional resilience, and self-advocacy skills, as well as learning about personal style and self-expression, and basic hygiene routines like making a home-made masque or doing a Facial Scrub. By bridging professional health science research with community-focused charitable outreach, we ensure that our programs go far beyond simple recreation—fostering confident, kind, and assertive kids backed by true scientific rigor.

Some newer Kids Spa Party companies have taken on tag-lines and marketing based on our web site, or the web sites of other original Spa Party web companies that have been around a long time. This is not only unethical, but I have my doubts that they are sincere individuals. (Find your own voice, please!) It's very easy to repeat what someone else says because it sounds good; the difference is, we mean what we say! And, because the Day Spa Girl concept didn't arise from nowhere, but rather as a natural outgrowth of our professional backgrounds as educators and providers of adjunctive therapy, we can prove, beyond a doubt, that we are the originators. Have you ever seen the 80s film Working Girl? Like Tess in the movie, we can prove the provenance of our offerings.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Day Spa Girl™ Party Providers

For the Spa Party Guests' Parents or Legal Guardians, as well as the Birthday Girl's Parents:

1. Please digitally sign this page by using the form at the bottom of this page. Please read the entire page carefully before signing. The second set of policies is intended for the parents hosting the party. (We encourage you to read through every section, even that part.)

2. We do not discriminate and serve families of all backgrounds. All kids are welcome to attend our parties. There is no conditional to that. That is the final word.

3. We've done parties for the families of some of the nation's most-recognized names and public figures. So, we understand and respect your privacy. That applies even if you're not famous. We do not arrive at the party with signage on our vehicle or anywhere on our bags or our clothing. We wear medical scrubs.

4. We use all-natural, chemical-free, food-grade spa products. If your child is allergic to anything at all, please let the Birthday Girl's parents know about this. We have options for kids with sensitivities. Please let us know as well, via the form at the bottom of this page. Over the years we have found a selection of store-bought and home-made recipes that work well with almost all children.

5. Food sensitivities. For some add-ons, we bring pre-packaged food from the store and only open it up at the house where the party is taking place. Even so, some kids are allergic to some foods. Again, we suggest speaking with the party host parents prior to the date of the party, if it's the case. We often use chocolate, from Nestle's to colored white to organic vegan, as well as fruits such as strawberries, pineapples, and often chocolate chip cookies on the side.

6. Fever/Illness: Children must be entirely free of fever and experiencing no acute signs of illness.

7. Skin/Tissue Integrity: Absence of acute rashes, open lesions, active skin infections, or contagious conditions in your child. (i.e.: Chicken pox that is active, diagnosed COVID-19, etc.)

8. Following these health guidelines this makes the event safer for everyone and helps prevent the spread of dangerous contagion that may be particularly hazardous to our elders and newborns. If your child is ill, we hope she gets well soon. Please choose to keep her home so she can properly recuperate.

9. All fingernail and toenail polish should be carefully removed before your child's arrival at the party. We respectfully request that all party guests arrive with nails clean and ready for new designs.

10. Fingernails and toenails should be trimmed and neat before the party.

11. If your daughter plans to have her hair styled, please wash, condition, and style her hair as usual. Please remember, however, that if you style her hair with mousse, creme, or gel, that limits what we can do, in terms of styling. If you choose to keep her hair in tight braids, the same applies. Of course, traditional African-American hairstyles like cornrows make hair options limited, but if that's how you choose to style your daughter's hair for the party we can add a feather and perhaps some hair chalk. However, that is your choice as a parent.

12. Dress should be as appropriate for the season, as well as the type of party. Please ask the Birthday Girl's Mom if you are unsure how formal the party will be, or if there's swimming, a sleepover, or other plans involved. Indoor parties require a different sort of clothing than an outdoor party. Please find out the details.

13. Boys are always welcome, though inviting them is entirely the choice of the family. Boys usually prefer hair styling, massage, and facials. Once in a while, we get boys who want clear nail polish or even their football jersey number on one nail. It's totally your choice whether to invite them to the party. However, boy-cousins and male siblings are sometimes guests at our parties, and less frequently classmates or male friends.

14. Occasionally, a child will experience mild redness after having a facial. In most cases, the redness subsided in about twenty minutes. It may be from the mild abrasion of the scrub sponge, or the slight astringency of the face-wash. Some girls with especially fair skin, or a history of redness, may experience this. Everything we use is mild, hypo-allergenic, and free from harsh chemicals. Even so, putting anything on your skin can cause irritation for some girls. We do offer a facial choice for sensitive skin.

15. Only experienced Pediatric-Certified and New Jersey state-licensed Massage Therapists will ever be providing Pediatric Therapeutic Massage at our parties. Our Massage Therapists are LMTs, as well as CPMTs (Certified Pediatric Massage Therapists) and are therefore able to work on clients from infants and children to adults. We are highly-rated, and have tens of thousands of hours providing Therapeutic Pediatric Massage to kids all over the state. Additionally, we are associated with a foundation serving children, as well as the Health Sciences Research Learning Center and the research studies the collaboration provides.

16. For the Pediatric Massage, or other Therapeutic Massage administered at the event, we always do a proper oral client intake immediately prior and ask if the person receiving the massage has any current or past health conditions, injuries, or surgeries, or are on any medications, and then work accordingly, or stop if there's a contraindication. If the child is too young to communicate this, we ask that the parents help explain at the party. Additionally, that should certainly be noted on the form below.

17. If you'd like to indicate anything regarding your child/children's activities, sports, dance, gymnastics, or anything regarding injuries, you may do so in the space provided below, so that we can work on what they want us to focus on for the massage.

18. As CMPT and LMT practitioners, administering facials is within our Legal Scope of Practice. Most of the other spa places providing facials are doing so outside of the law, as calling it "entertainment" does not change the fact that they touch the child, administer massage to their skin, and sometimes even do facial and scalp massage. We have over 120 hours of pediatric-specific higher-learning advanced training provided in-person by the legend herself, pediatric massage pioneer and worldwide celebrity Tina Allen, at the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Please know that providing Touch Therapy to a child and billing it as "Entertainment" does not change that this is a regulated activity in the state and requires both specific certification as well as licensure and insurance. Please remember this when choosing a spa place that provides "facials and neck massage" or "hand massage" as part of their offerings. While a certified Nail Technician may massage the hands, a Nail Art hiree at a franchise, however skilled she may be, likely lacks the proper credentials to massage even a child's hand. Additionally, as LMTs, we are all background-checked by the state of New Jersey using the Federal database, while people working at most "Kids Spa Party" places may have just provided a resume and had an interview prior to hiring. We want to be clear on this.

19. In our work adjacent to the Day Spa Girl parties, we are adjunctive therapy providers serving the pediatric and perinatal populations. We have assigned NPI numbers, are widely accepted by insurance, and abide by a Professional Code of Ethics. We actively engage in novel academic research and work in media focusing on health and wellness. That is where we are coming from. We take our work seriously, and that includes the Spa Parties we offer.

20. All images that are taken during the party are totally stripped of geolocation information before posting in the gallery to protect the safety and privacy of the family and party-goers.

21. If your daughter has attended one of our Spa Parties, we will offer you a discount on a future Spa Party that you, or any of your family members, books with us. If you're looking for Pediatric Massage Therapy for your child, we also have discounts for in-home pediatric massage if your child attended a Spa Party of ours.

22. Please drop your daughter off on-time. Please be sure someone opens the door before you drive away even if you have an older girl. Often pre-party, it's extremely loud, with the girls who are there early being very excited and enthused, and showing it by being quite vocal. Pick up time should be arranged with the Birthday Girl's Mom. (It's always good to go in and meet your daughter's friend's parents, if there isn't going to be a gathering for the adults during the party time.)

23. If your child has a restricted diet, and there's going to be eating, you may wish to arrange wit the Birthday Girl's parents so you can bring your kid's own dinner and dessert.

24. If your child has a health issue, Learning Difference, or other special need requiring special attention or accommodation, please let the us know, using the form located at the bottom of this page. (As this may include personal medical information, as Massage Therapists, we conform to the HIPAA Medical Professionals' ethics and laws regarding nondisclosure.)

25. During the party, we take lots of photos and video. These are for the Birthday Girl's Gallery and DVD of the party. The photos may also appear on other areas of our Day Spa Girl Mobile Kids Spa Party web site. Any additional photos provided by the Birthday Girl's family, or guests' parents, may be likewise used, however, such additional photos remain the copyright-protected works of the original photographer, used for this purpose with permission. All images are stripped of geolocation-data; we strongly suggest you do the same for all images you share of your family at your home.

26. There are five Mobile Kids Spa Party Services we typically offer: Pediatric Massage, Facials, Nail Art, Foot Soak & Pedi Polish, and finally, Hairstyling. At times, we optionally offer Makeup Application as an option, but this is not a standard service.

27. Depending upon the particular Party Package the party host has chosen, each guests may receive 2 - 5 of these above-mentioned services. Some Kids Spa Party events do not include all services as options for guests to choose from, but rather provide a limited repertoire of services. (i.e. example 1: Massage and Facials ONLY; example 2: Makeup, Facials, and Nails ONLY; example 3: 2 services individually chosen by each guest from Foot soak with Pedi, Nail Art, and Makeup Application.)

26. We do not provide the food. Most parties, parents get pizza or finger foods. Not every party features food, however, as some events keep a snappy pace and food isn't part of the equation. Some parties only have finger foods or snack-type stuff or even solely candy. It is best to find out ahead of time.

28. Jagua Tattoos.

At our Mobile Kids' Spa Parties, we offer Jagua "temporary tattoos" as an optional add-on. Jagua is all-natural, extracted from the fruit of the Genipa americana, a relative to the coffee tree, found in tropical American forests, and even Florida. Various cultures of South America have historically used this fruit as a source of dye for body ornamentation.

Jagua tattoos only affect the outermost layers of skin.

Jagua "tattoos' are more like henna body art than tattoos applied with a needle. The Jagua takes anywhere from a few hours to darken, to sometimes more than a day. The Jagua tattoo then slowly fades over the course of about two weeks. Jagua tattoos appear blue/black on the skin, and look a lot like a real tattoo, while they're still dark.

Children have received Jaugua tattoos for countless generations in these various South American tribes, and now kids in the US and elsewhere have found out about this cool new (but really old) temporary tattoo option, different than henna-based temporary tattoos and decal-style sticker-tattoos, which most kids already know about.

Actually, black henna tattoos often contain harmful ingredients, chemicals like paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a textile dye only approved for use as a hair-colorant. So, be careful when using henna-based kids tattoos! People think Jagua scars because fake black henna contains the chemical PPD (a hair dye chemical) and causes blisters, chemical burns, and permanent scars.

Thank you for your patience. That's it. The following section is intended for the parents of the Birthday Girl, or whomever else is hosting (or planning) the Spa Birthday Party. As a parent or legal guardian of a Spa Party guest, it may not be entirely relevant to you, but feel free to read through this next section if you choose. (We encourage everyone to read through this entire page.) However, if you wish to skip this next part, scroll down the page to the Consent Form.

For the Birthday Girl's Parents: (Or whomever else is hosting!) UPDATED SEPT, 2026

1. Please digitally sign this page by using the form at the bottom of this page. Please read this entire page carefully before signing.

2. This is a legally-binding Consent Form for your child to participate, and not at all a waiver of liability of any sort.

3. All party dates must be secured with a paid deposit. There are no exceptions. The two times we ever made exceptions, since 2011, the families both canceled, so we no longer do that. People just don't take a party reservation seriously without a deposit, in some cases. That makes it not worth it for us, as our time is of value. Please note: In all instances, if you have not paid a deposit, you have not booked a Spa Party event.

3. Deposits may be paid by Credit Card, Paypal, Venmo, CahsApp, personal cheque, or cash.

4. There is no refund for the deposit, once paid. The date of the party may be changed, however, for no additional fee. We are flexible and understanding. Sometimes things come up in life. Changing the data and postponing again for a second time or more is alright if you must. However, we have to warn that from experience it seems that if you postpone too many times, you may not have too many guests who actually RSVP and show up.

5. The Birthday Girl's parents will be responsible for paying ONLY for the number of guests who actually attend the party. Unlike many spa places, we do not charge for the number of guests you had anticipated arriving, but rather for the number of girls who actually attend.

6. We do not offer discounts if one or more party attendees arrive late or must leave early, though we do try to accommodate in whatever ways we can, such as letting girls who are leaving early go first for services, when possible.

7. The final balance of payment is due at the end of the party, and may be made via PayPal, credit card, personal cheque, or cash.

8. If girls choose to only participate in the footbath part of the mini-pedi, and do not want get their nails painted, that will still count toward an activity they've participated in.

9. If party guests choose not to participate in any of the activities prior to the start of the party, she will not be counted as part of the final head count, but then she also cannot participate in crafts or activities.

10. If a party guest chooses to get fewer then the total number of services allotted to her, the party host must still pay for the total number of services that she was pre-determined by contract to have provided for her, should she choose to engage in them.

11. Services are nontransferable between party attendees. The meaning of this is that if a party participant only opts to use three of her four services, that additional services does not then go to another child present at the party, entitling that guest to five services, etc.

12. You are responsible for payment determined by the number of guests who attend the event, in terms of the final bill.

13. Our Party Packages (Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, etc.) have minimums, meaning that each package requires a minimum number of participants in order to be booked.

14. The minimum number of guests for each Party Package that were communicated to the host when booking over the phone must still be met, in the event that fewer guests arrive than had RSVPed. If the number of guests attending is fewer than the minimum number of guests required for the Party Package you have booked, you are still subject to the Party Package minimums outlined on this platform.

15. In the event that you must meet a Party Package minimum due to no-show-guests, we will permit the attending girls to split the extra services the missing guests were allotted amongst themselves and upgrade to a higher package. And so, you never get charged for nothing. We keep these minimums because otherwise doing Mobile Spa parties is just not worth the time and energy involved.

16. Your total bill will be pre-determined; it is calculated as follows: the number of girls participating times the price that we quoted for Kids Spa Party Package corresponding with that number of activities per guest, plus the cost of any add-ons you have chosen, beforehand.

17. Only one coupon is valid per party.

18. You cannot downgrade the day of the party. If you are seeking to change plans, please do so at least 48 hours prior to the party date. Be aware that you may still have to meet a minimum if you decrease the number of guests or services.

19. You may request to upgrade on the day of the party. That means that guests who arrived unplanned may be included. Party-goers may also be granted additional services, like upgrading from two to three services, each. Time and resources, permitting, we will upgrade as per your request.

20. We don't limit our parties by time. We take as long as it takes. Our best suggestion is contacting parents when the cake is out, if parents dropped off their kids. For sleepovers, there isn't really a time-limit. For non-sleepovers, we don't time our parties, either. However, if your party has a specific end-time, be sure that you discuss that when planning the party with our concierge.

21. We will discuss when the party will be starting, so we can arrive early and set up. We usually arrive an hour before the guests are set to arrive.

22. We will discuss when the party will be ending, as well, if you need a hard stop. If the guests must be picked up by a certain time, that is essential to know. If it's a sleepover, we need to know how late you want to go.

23. Make sure you know that if you choose to exclude a service beforehand that we cannot necessarily provide that service as a choice on the day of the party. We do no bring the bags associated with those particular activities we haven't arranged for as choices. For facials, we buy cukes and aloe fresh, as well as yogurt, the day before the party. It just can't be done without us knowing beforehand. If we are doing manis and have polish with us, we can then add pedis. Same for the reverse.

24. Pediatric Massage can always be added, as well, because we always have the massage gear in the vehicle we travel in.

25. You may exclude any activity/ies that you choose. If you want a polish party, and nothing but manis, that's perfect. If you want massages and facials only, that's no trouble at all. If you want to have the girls choose between everything but hair styling, that is OK, too.

---------------------------

26. We require a few electrical outlets. We bring HEPA Air Filters. The hairstyling tools need an electrical source, as well. The Lip Balm Craft area needs one outlet. The Add-On Chocolate Fountain needs its own outlet. We generally require three outlet where the Facials and Spa area will be. Don't stress, just get a rough idea of what part of the house you plan to use. If you don't have as many outlets as specified, don't worry about it. :)

27. We need a small table for the nail polish station, preferably at least 4 feet by four feet in dimension. A typical folding table is fine. We can use a kitchen or dining room table, or even a much smaller table, if necessary. We can even set up on the floor. Whatever works. It's your party, so you can do what you choose. However, please be aware that we bring alot of nail polish and that takes space, along with the hair station.

28. When we are in a hotel, if you want the chocolate fountain, you must be sure to request a microwave before that day, as well confirming that it's in the room when you check in. If you would like us to mould the chocolate at the end, you will also need a refrigerator in your room. If you cannot get a microwave, we can bring a chocolate fondue pot, as opposed to the fountain.

29. We need access to a sink with hot and cold running water if we're doing facials. A bathroom is ideal, as the dirty facial water can be easily flushed, and the basins can be re-lined and filled more quickly using the bathtub spigot. The Pedi Basins are not gigantic, but are large enough that they may not fit well under a faucet in a very small sink.

30. Robes and Spa Decor are borrowed for the duration of the party, only. We take everything back when we're done and everything gets washed and disinfected. We clean up and leave everything nice and neat.

31. If you want to do additional decorating, that is your choice. Most families opt to do this, though a fast and easy party for the parents without all that works great, too, in our experience.

32. We require access to a kitchen sink for the party set-up to prepare the facial mixtures, and to cut the aloe vera and cucumbers. A cutting board, a sharp knife, and a spoon are all we need.

33. After the party, we must clean everything and disinfect where applicable. Again, a kitchen sink for washing our stuff that requires water and soap, and a bathroom to dump the basins and the facial mixtures at the end of the party, works.

34. Unlike many of the more-recently-created home spa party companies, we have been around since 2011 and know that a big part of this is managing the children. We know it's really not your job to manage the group. So we do our best to manage your guests, respectfully and with gentleness. When the kids are engaged and having fun, it's easy, actually! Some groups are more boisterous than others. If the girls are not listening, or there's a serious behavioral issue, we do inform the parents and ask that they mediate. That is beyond the scope of the sort of group management we provide. We require that parents remain present. That is all. The only time this is not a requirement is in the case of a medical or family emergency. (It's happened; having done so many parties, we've encountered all kinds of situations, and that is partially why this form is getting a September, 2026 rewrite.)

35. Recommended ages are 3 and up. We are certified and trained in infant massage, so we're flexible on that. (We don't do infant facials, as that's just not a good idea, but we've done the nails for small toddlers.) As far as the upper age bracket, Moms, Aunts, friends, and even the guys are welcome to a massage or a mani or facial. This has happened at only about 30% of parties. Make that statistic go higher and be sure to participate with your girls!

36. Please keep pets out of the party area. Dogs and cats, may...no will(!)...try to eat the facial mixture out of the bowl! Remember, everything is edible. While our masques are all 100% nontoxic, after such an incident, we really must throw away the rest. And, there's chocolate, and many people say that chocolate is toxic to dogs, specifically.

37. Each party-goer gets a new lining for the foot bath. There are absolutely no exceptions. Girls cannot share a foot-bath or switch basins. When a girl's toes touch the water that makes the basin hers. This is non-negotiable and actually New Jersey state law governing hygiene.

38. If we encounter traffic or adverse weather conditions on the way to the party, please be understanding. While we want to start everything promptly as much as you do, we also want to arrive safely, even if it takes a little more time getting there. We will text you or phone to let you know what's happening.

Please check the "I agree" box and digitally sign the form below by typing your initials in the field provided, then press the Submit Button. By signing and agreeing that you understand what is involved in our Kids Spa Party, you are providing consent for your child to participate in the Spa Party activities on the day of the party without restriction, unless otherwise noted. You agree that if you have any questions or special requests, that you will relay them to us via this form. We recommend simultaneously relaying important information to the Spa Birthday Girl's Mom or Dad prior to the event date.
